Goodbye Kinga!  See you....Everywhere!

On June 24th, people from all over the world gathered in Gdansk, Poland to celebrate the life of Kinga Freespirit.  It was another one of Kinga's dreams coming true - to have so many of the people she loved the most finally get to meet one another.  There were many tears, but also so much light and laughter as new friendships were formed and stories were shared.  No one could deny that you could feel Kinga smiling all around us.

I was so impressed (though hardly surprised) by how far people traveled to pay their respects.  Friends flew in from many countries. Many, in true Kinga spirit, hitchhiked to her funeral.  There was quite a good number of people there who had never met Kinga, but traveled great distances because they felt called to say goodbye.  I imagined that Kinga would smile to see all the backpacks in the church!  Though there were hundreds of mourners there, I suppose that only represents a small fraction of those who have followed Kinga's story, and who would have liked to be there. So, for those who could not make it, as well as for the new friends I made there, I offer these photos.!
